Royal Enfield Bike Trip to Rajasthan

There comes the time of the year when the weather gods blessed Royal Bikers with some cool winds, December was the perfect time to explore Rajasthan. the ride was planned to cover around 2400 km in a span of 4 days. the days started with cool winds but gets really hot during the day hours. Managing my leaves and coming back from Ahmedabad for a sole purpose of riding. It’s Rajasthan this time. Let’s meet royals on a Royal Enfield. Not entirely the same group that went to Billing but with every ride you get know new people. So we start from our H.Q.-Kay Tee Mahipalpur heading west towards Rajasthan. On our way we stopped at the haunted fort of Bhangarh testing our luck with supernatural but came with some amazing pictures and fun with monkeys. Ending the day with our 1st stop at Ajmer paying homage to Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.Spiritual calmness achieved.

Royal Bikers got some relief on the second day when they took a pit stop at Mehrangarh fort for a session of Flying fox, six zip line all over the fort gave an adrenaline rush to the riders which inspired them to ride and few hundred kms to reach their halt for the day at Sam. traditional welcome at the camp site and Rajasthani folk dance with a glass of wine in the middle of the desert quite near to the Indo – Pak border gave immense respite to the riders.

Day 3 was again an early start. It was camel rides and fun in desert. After a session of photography and camel race we started onwards to Murar;the last check post of Indo-Pak border. At first the entry was denied but later on it was granted by a Royal Enfield enthusiast Commander of the Indian army who appointed a Major to escort our group to the last check post in the region. Upon reaching there we discovered the vastness of the Thar desert and the devotion of our Jawans who keep everything aside when it comes to the service of the nation.A salute to their devotion and services.Filled with the feeling of patriotism we moved for our next destination Bikaner.Open roads and sand on either sides and the feeling of freedom, with nothing but camels to wave at us we reached our destination.Welcomed by a big banner of our group outside the hotel we were staying,we spent our night with dreams of reaching home on the next day.

Starting easy the next, the final leg of our journey started to home sweet home. Long way home filled with the memories of the yesterdays we started our journey home.Riding through the day it we finally reached home at night.
All I can think of is a line by Metallica-“Anywhere I may roam, where I lay my head is home. “It’s a riders way.
